Client Configuration
Use these settings to set the client mode. The site should have at least one access point that this receiver can connect to. This allows:
-
satellite corrections to be sent to the "client" receiver.
-
positions to be sent from the "client" receiver to the access point.
-
access to the web interface of the "client" receiver from elsewhere on the network.
Select Wi-Fi / Client.
Enable the Wi-Fi Client – Select this check box if the receiver is to be a client.
Static IP – When enabled, a static IP address can be allocated to the Wi-Fi client to override the IP address allocated by DHCP from the network.
Stored settings – This lists the SSID and encryption key for the access points that the Wi-Fi client has been configured to connect to.
Scan for Networks – Click this button to search for nearby access points. Once completed, a list of access points will be available for selection. Each access point will show SSID, encryption, and signal strength, for example, "Trimble Guest Network (Open, RSSI:197)".
Connect – Select an access point from the Select Access Point list and then click Connect.
SSID – Service Set Identifier. It is a 32-character unique identifier attached to the header of packets sent over a WLAN that acts as a password when a mobile device tries to connect to an access point. An SSID is also referred to as a network name as it identifies a wireless network. It is the name of the Access Point that the Wi-Fi client is connecting to.
-
Trimble GNSS NNNN (where NNNN is the last four serial number digits).
-
The ‘Trimble’ prefix is retained but you can alter the rest of the SSID.
Encryption Key – The password used by a client when joining the network. The factory default is “abcdeabcde”.
Save – Click Save to save the current settings.
NOTE – From version 4.70, the receiver can connect to an access point using WEP/WPA/WPA2 security options (set on the Access Point Configuration screen).
